In our opinion, Tignes is one of the most modern and innovative ski resorts in France and we want to tell you why you should think about taking ski holidays in Tignes!

The ski resort of Tignes is linked with the famous ski resort of Val d’Isere to form the Espace Killy ski area. The Espace Killy is named after the famous French skier Jean Claude Killy who came from the area.  Ok that’s great but ….

1)   Is the snow any good?

Oh yeah! Tignes is a snow sure resort and is open for longer than any other ski resort in the French alps. It is even possible to ski Tignes in the summer and in fact a Ski Bikini Contest is held each year in August. So Tignes have great snow all year round making it fantastic for ski holidays!

2)   What sort of skiing is there?

Well Tignes is a ski resort that has something for everyone whatever level of skier you. There are over 300km of pistes in the Espace Killy, 23 greens, 66 blues, 40 reds and 27 black runs. Add to that an incredible off piste ski area as well and there’s no way you’ll be bored!

3)   Hey, what about New Skool Skiing?

Oh yeah have you got a treat!! Reckon you’ve got the moves? Then get them photographed and filmed in the Swatch Snowpark! Beginner or expert freestyle skier, they are all posted on the internet at www.swatch.com. If you fancy trying some new tricks then try out the NEW Big Airbag – grab the big air but have a soft landing on the soft air mattress.

4)   What is the transport in the ski resort like?

All skiers know what its like to hang around for ages waiting for the ski bus to arrive. Well not on your ski holidays in Tignes, the ski buses run all day until about midnight every 10 minutes up and down the valley between the two main villages of Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret.

5)   Ok so I want to go skiing in Tignes but where can I stay?

There are a huge number of hotels and apartments in Tignes that cater to all budgets so you won’t be short of somewhere to stay.
